Jentopia Himalayans & Persians

"The Himalayan Utopia"

WELCOME to Jentopia Cattery!  We are a CFA registered cattery and 2007 CFA Breed Council Member, located in  CFA's region 4 - specializing in lynx point and color pointed himalayan persians.  My love for the himalayan persian began in 1990 with a flame point himalayan that my brother Randy had bought for me as a gift.  We named her "Edie" after Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians due to her very relaxed temperament.  She passed away from a brain tumor in 2001 and from my loss with her became the beginning of my obsession with the himalayan.  I started with showing in 2002, and then began building the foundation of my breeding program - to which I am still building.  We have limited numbers of litters per year, and are always striving to improve upon the breed standard.  Our cats  are extremely loving, affectionate, good natured, almost "dog like" and they pass this onto their kittens.  My kitties are extremely dependent on their "people" and want to be with you constantly.  it can be almost smothering!  Our kittens are raised underfoot, in a very social atmosphere, with children and pug dogs - so they are used to being handled.  When people visit, my kitties never run away from strangers, they embrace them as someone new to say hello to and get strokes from, and they are always up for that! 

Some of our lines include: Brigantina, DeMiara, Oakheaven, Whisperwood, Sandilair, Sulltans, Careyata, Purringwood, vickics, karabel, farallon, Co-Bridge and Ahmischi to name a few.  A special thank you goes out to Vladimir and Irina Mishin of Brigantina for providing us with our breeding program cornerstone!
